One Year in 40 Seconds

A beautiful video that shows all 4 seasons in 40 seconds. Eirik Solheim created this video by taking still shots of the same landscape at regular intervals throughout 2008. The result is a truly gorgeous look at the amazing-ness of nature!

Another (Better) Choose Your Own Adventure Video

Apparently, I posted too soon. I found another CYOA video directly after writing my last post. This video is - in my humble opinion - a good bit better. Better writing, acting AND it involved time machines and zombies. Yea, that just happened. Check it out!

Choose Your Own Adventure Video

I am extremely grateful that the good people at SpecBox have created a "Choose Your Own Adventure" video series. I'm pretty sure I am going to spend ALL night determining every possible ending - totally nerdy but also TOTALLY awesome.

Single Ladies Videos

People have been recording themselves dancing to Beyonce's Single Ladies video ever since it came out. There have been quite a few interesting versions (my personal favorite is this one), but I recently found the following video and loved it; this little girl is just too cute to handle! She really is a mini-Beyonce in training...and I'm still trying to decide if that's a good thing or not.

Craziest Football Play Ever

The title says it all... And this is why college football rules are totally rad!

Obama - The College Years

Time Magazine just released an awesome photo shoot of Barack Obama in his college days. The pictures were taken by a college friend and do, in fact, prove that our new President is pretty freakin' cool.

I Love You, Man - Movie Trailer

Seems like Bromance is the new hot term these days. MTV has a whole series dedicated to it and now there is even a movie about it! Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, and Andy Samburg are the stars of I Love You, Man - due to open in March of 2009. This movie looks pretty sweet - I'm looking forward to watching these funny men develop a true bromance.

Check out the trailer...

Mr. Belding Sings Karaoke

Found this via BuzzFeed this AM. Mr. Belding (aka Dennis Haskins) of Saved by the Bell fame is a karaoke fiend. Typing in "Dennis Haskins Karaoke" on YouTube turns up quite a few videos. Dennis will be releasing a DVD/CD called "Karaoke with your Favorite Principal Dennis Haskins, aka Mr. Belding" in the upcoming months. Nothing like a title that tells it all, huh?

Check out some Belding karaoke videos below. He even sings with Brooke Hogan in one of them...I guess that means he's really "made it"!

Animated Christmas Lights

The McNamara Family in Queen Creek, AZ have award winning Christmas Lights. Their animated light shows feature 25,000+ lights, a 6 foot helium balloon and a 12 foot mega tree. Sounds like a party to me.

I wanted to share a few of their animated Christmas light songs with you. You can find more info on the family here.

Motivational Videos

This time of year can get a bit dark and gloomy for all of us. In order to curb those feelings, I've decided to post a few motivational videos.

To get us in the motivational spirit, I think it's best to start off with our favorite motivational speaker, Mr. Matt Foley.

I'm sure that now you're pumped and ready to go...why not watch the following speeches and get even more inspired?

And finally, this is for those times when you're feeling just a lil' blue...

Hope you have a fantastic, upbeat day!

Susan Powter - Eat A Pear

I'll always have a soft spot for Susan Powter. I can recall many a late night watching her "Stop the Insanity" infomercials; she always fascinated me - but in a totally creepy way.

Well, if you didn't already know, Susan Powter is back on the scene doing her diet and exercise thing...and she is as crazy as ever. Her YouTube account has some great vlogs; everything from her rambling on about Rachael Ray to clips from TV appearances.

I found the following video on Susan Powter's account this evening. It has already been remixed in various ways and put back onto YouTube. I smell a meme in the works...

American Idol Disappointmet

A few pre-teen fans of David Archuleta gathered together to watch the final of American Idol last season. Their response to the winner is documented on video and it is...well, please watch and see for yourself.

Tilt Shift Videos

I did a blog post a while back on tilt-shift photography. I wanted to follow up with a few tilt-shift videos I found the other day. They are quite fun!

Girl Talk - Feed the Animals Music Videos

Girl Talk's, latest album, Feed the Animals, has become one of my favorite albums of 2008. If you haven't heard of him before, Girl Talk is a Pittsburgh based DJ who samples bits and pieces of various songs and makes them into full tracks. You can check out his myspace site here. I found a few YouTube users a few weeks ago that have made some music videos for Feed the Animals. I would try to explain what's happening in the vids, but I'm sure I won't do them justice - you'll have to experience the awesomeness firsthand below...

Track One - Play Your Part

Track Two - Shut The Club Down

Track Three - Still Here

You can check out even more Girl Talk music videos here.

Casual Collective Games

I have to admit, I am pret-ty into online computer games. So when I stumbled across this new gaming collective, I was pretty excited.
The site is Casual Collective Games and it features 8 different flash games. Each game is super simple and some also feature online multiplayer. My personal favorite thus far is Buggle Stars, a game using only the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT cursors that is quite addictive.
Another fun game is Farragomate; a word game where you throw sentences together and are then judged by your fellow Farragomate players. Check out links to both games below.
You can also register as a member of Casual Collective Games to hook up with other gaming peeps and save high scores. Pretty neat.

Best of the Best: America's Funniest Home Videos

I'd like to continue on with my "Best of the Best" series by posting a few classic clips from the ever famous TV show, America's Funniest Home Videos. I have only scraped the surface with these gems - I plan to keep searching and posting as I find more.

And just to get us into AFV mode, my first clip is the AFV opening sequence. I suggest watching it before the other vids - Bob Sagat's wacky antics (not to mention the fabulous magic montage) really get you in the zone.

Back in Action

After a year long hiatus, Skiddy Stop is back in action. In preparation for my first return post, I googled "how to blog" on YouTube and came up with these results. Although there were quite a few interesting responses, I think this guy hit the nail on the head:

I'm looking forward to my future as a progressive blogger.
